What does
tacuText cost?
With tacúText the person who receives the message pays 20c. When a
message is received from 53215 they will be billed 20cents (VAT
inclusive). There are no other subscription charges, or minimum usage
requirements. Other service messages or support communications will be
marked tacutext.ie (freetext) and will cost you
nothing. There are NO other charges.
Can I use
tacúText for another use outside of sport or school?
Yes, we developed tacúText for schools, sports clubs an voluntary
organisations, but it can also be used as a low cost group texting
system. If you find a novel use let us know about it on help@tacutext.ie
Can you recommend what kind of Group
name I should use?
A group member might be a member of several groups so the name should
be short and distinctive, e.g. clonU14h might be a good name for under
14 hurling at Clonakilty. Do not use spaces or hyphens in group names.
Could someone else have the same group
name?
As group names are associated with your mobile number then its no
problem for rmany people to have the same group names. It also means
you can have any group name you like.
How do I know how many people have joined
my new group?
When you POST a message you’ll see how many people received it from our
delivery status reports. Or Text
INFO groupname
to
53215 and we’ll text back the number of members and details of the last
few who’ve joined. You can also go to www.tacutext.ie and look up your
groups in the user area under GROUP OWNER LOGIN
How can I remember what groups I have set
up or what groups have I joined?
Text GROUPS from your phone to 53215 and we’ll text you all the groups
you’re a member of.
I sent a text to my group but go no
response from 53215.
We will ALWAYS send you a response typically within 30s unless we did
not get the message. Check your credit. If you have no credit the
operators will not tell you when you send a text. Check the text is not
too long. Texts to shortcodes cannot be longer than a single text, 160
chars. Remove any symbols, such as euro or smileys from your text.
How do I leave a group?
If you have received a message from a group in the last 24 hours simply text, STOP to 53215 and you will be removed from that group. Otherwise Text
STOP groupName
- If you belong to only one group of that name Or STOP groupName groupNumber
to 53215. You will get
the groupName and groupNumber at the start of the messages you are
getting from the group.
I joined a group but am not getting any
texts.
Text GROUPS to 53215 to see what groups you are a member of or check
with the group owner as they can see if you are joined to the group. If
so then email help@tacutext.ie for support.
Can I REPLY to 53215?
No. Reply to your group owner whose number is listed at the start of
the message.

Group
Names are associated with the group owners mobile number so
many
people can have the same group name., e.g first. When you
send
the JOIN text your mobile number is included automatically. We need the
group owners mobile number to know which group you wish to join.
